AMS’s telescopic light shafts are unique in functionality and aesthetics and are designed and built to perfectly match the exterior design of luxury yachts longer than 50m. They consist of three carbon fiber tubes of different diameters, and when not in use can be retracted within a watertight compartment and disappear into the deck to leave the surface of a heli-deck clear, for example, or for aesthetic reasons.
The shafts are hydraulically operated quickly and easily by push-button. Special features of this product include, the spring system that stiffens the structure when raised and the electrical cable that is completely hidden inside the system and does not require external cable reel. These two innovative features are patent pending. AMS designs each telescopic mast according to the size of the yacht, its characteristics and needs.
MAIN FEATURES
- Carbon fiber telescopic tubes
- Flush use on the helicopter landing deck.
- Waterproof housing
- No cable winder. The electrical cable is completely hidden inside the system (patent pending). The system is completely sealed
- There is no need for stays. The shaft is equipped with a spring system (patent pending) that increases its stiffness when opened
- The system is delivered inside its housing following the acceptance test (FAT). The system is already set up for quick installation and ready to be used
- Unique freshwater flushing system (patent pending)
TECHNICAL DATA.

Suitable for any yacht above 50m LOA.
Material of telescopic tubes
Carbon fiber pre-impregnated in epoxy resin.
Integrated stiffening system (patent pending)
The mast can withstand all weather conditions without stays thanks to a spring system that increases its stiffness.
Standard version weight
≈750kg with AISI 316 stainless steel housing and actuator.
Weight light version (on request)
≈400kg with aluminum housing and actuator.
Diameter of the housing (fixed tube)
≈400mm.

Hydraulic power unit
Hydraulic power unit equipped with 3kW three-phase motor and 21l/min pump. Emergency hand pump included.
Power supply
Operating voltage: 400Vac, 50Hz. If required, the switchboard can be equipped with an auxiliary 24Vdc power supply (e.g., provided by on-board batteries) to keep the shaft status signals active when the main power systems are off.
Electric cable
Multiflex RR 18×1 electric cable, which exits through a sealed grommet from the watertight box installed at the bottom of the mast, ready to be connected to the on-board network.
Orientation of lights
Anti-rotation system installed in the tree to prevent rotation of tubes and consequently misalignment of lights.
Weather-marine conditions
Designed to withstand without stays, any weather-marine conditions.
Navigation lights
Compatible with any navigation light, such as Cantalupi and Lopolight.
Status signals reported on the dashboard
Shaft open, shaft closed, watertight box flooded.
