A significant example is AMS’s contribution to the construction of the new Genoa Bridge, for which the company designed and manufactured special carbon fibre arms for the infrastructure’s robotic monitoring system.
The arms support the sensors and cameras of the inspection system, which travels along the underside of the bridge, enabling structural monitoring and the collection of data required for inspection and assessment activities. The use of carbon fibre made it possible to develop components combining high stiffness, low weight and geometries optimised for the specific application.
